Claire joined the team of Energy cities in 2014 after 10 years as Secretary General of Housing Europe, the Federation of social housing providers. She is French and graduated in economics. She completed a post-graduate in European policies in Strasbourg after a year of econometrics in Mainz, Germany. Living in Brussels, she speaks English, Spanish and French with some German.

Dirk Vansintjan is one of the founding members Ecopower, a Belgian citizen energy cooperative with nearly 60,000 members. He has been working in the renewable energy sector since 1985 and still pushes for an energy transition that leads to energy democracy. Today Mr. Vansintjan is a board member of Ecopower and the President of REScoop.eu, the European federation of citizen energy cooperatives.

After serving as Dutch diplomat and politician for 30 years, Frans Timmermans was nominated Executive Vice President of the European Commission in 2019. Among his responsibilities, are leading the Commission’s work on the European Green Deal and its first European Climate Law to enshrine the 2050 climate-neutrality target into EU law and coordinating the work on the Just Transition Fund, to support those most affected by the “green” transition.

In the Energy Center she is in charge of international project cooperation. Before joining Urban Innovation Vienna, she worked as climate and energy policy advisor to the Austrian Parliament and for the Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change, where she researched transformation strategies.

Lucia is a political communication scholar, interested in digital media and digital politics in Europe. Before joining the EU Policy Lab, she worked as visiting lecturer in political communication at Zagreb University, postdoctoral fellow at the JRC Institute for the Protection and Security of the Citizen and a researcher at the Centre for European Studies. She completed her PhD in Communication Science in 2011 at Ghent University.

His work is geared towards empowering locally situated, as well as transnational and distributed collectives for cultural, socio-economic and political transformations towards resilient, pluriversal and heterotopic futures.

Tine De Moor is a professor of "Institutions for Collective Action in Historical Perspective" at the Utrecht University. Her research focuses on the development and functioning of institutions for collective activities such as guilds, market societies and modern citizen initiatives. She also investigates the role of women in economic development. She is a municipal councillor for the Green Party in Ghent.
